ABOUT OUR NATIONAL FLAG.

The National Flag of India was designed by Pingali Venkayya and adopted in its present form during the meeting of Constituent Assembly held on the 22 July 1947, a few days before India's independence from the British on 15 August, 1947.

Colours of Indian National Flag.

The Indian flag has three colors:

1. saffron at the top,
2. white in the middle and
3. green at bottom.

Our tri-coloured National flag reflects in every way the hopes and aspirations enshrined in her constitution. The saffron stands for restraint and sacrifice, the white for piety and purity and the green for courage and vitality.
In the middle of the flag we have the Ashok Chakra with 24 spike.
