ACTIVE LISTENING
Most
of us are in understanding that Hearing and Listening are one and the same. But
it’s not true. Hearing happens through ears but Listening happens trough both ears
and mind. Hearing is the ability to sense
the sounds, but Listening requires a conscious effort to interpret the sounds and
concentration of mind.
Active
Listening requires getting fully involved, paying all attention, applying mind,
asking appropriate questions and if necessary not interrupting at inappropriate
times and providing feedback to the speaker.
Advantages of Active Listening:-

- · Active Listener can perform his/her job more efficiently and effectively. It enables him to secure more job opportunities, promotions and career growth.
- · An Active Listener is always aware of all news and developments within as well as outside the organization.
